Kollam: Pending at the treasury are various local self-government institution bills totaling Rs 721 crore, which includes maintenance grants.

Currently, 23,447 bills are awaiting approval, with expenses for different projects accounting for Rs 407 crores alone. Currently, 41.27 percent of the allocated amount is utilised for various project executions, and this figure is expected to increase to 46.73 percent if the pending bills are also approved.

The deadline for completing the execution of projects is March 31. It has to be expedited considering the upcoming holidays of Maundy Thursday and Good Friday at the month-end. 

Thiruvananthapuram district leads in project execution, having spent 46.11 percent of the allocated funds. Kollam and Pathanamthitta follow with 44.71 percent and 43.46 percent spending, respectively. Idukki lags behind, with only 33.95 percent utilisation of the allocated funds.
