To eliminate fake users and enable genuine passengers to book tickets without difficulty, software systems such as Akamai have been introduced

As part of efforts to curb reservation fraud, the Railways has cancelled 3.02 crore suspicious login IDs. The action targeted automated bots and software used by fraudsters to book a large number of Tatkal tickets and resell them at higher prices.
Anti-bot software has been deployed to block fake users. Aadhaar-based OTP verification has also been introduced for online and counter Tatkal bookings. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed Parliament about these measures.
The Railways is implementing additional steps to ensure the security of the ticket booking system. Network firewalls, intrusion-prevention systems, and software protections for web applications have been put in place.
To eliminate fake users and enable genuine passengers to book tickets without difficulty, software systems such as Akamai have been introduced, the minister said. He added that complaints have been filed with the cybercrime department using the PNR details of suspicious bookings.
