Kozhikode: A woman passenger who was travelling from Kollam by Jan Shatabdi Express was stung by wasps on Saturday night. A swarm of wasps flew right into the compartment unexpectedly, when the train halted at Shoranur junction at 9.30 pm.
Passengers began to panic as wasps started buzzing and hovering inside the compartment. They attempted to shoo them away with their handkerchiefs, hoping they would leave. Despite informing the TTR about the situation in the D8 compartment, their efforts were futile. The TTR explained that the wasps had been disturbed during a cleanup drive in a nearby area and cautioned passengers to be cautious.
Unfortunately, a woman passenger was stung by wasps after the train started moving forward. Similar incidents occurred in several trains halted at Shoranur.
