Kerala is set to welcome three new Amrit Bharat Express trains this week, aimed at enhancing inter-state connectivity and providing safe, affordable long-distance travel

Kerala will soon see the launch of three new Amrit Bharat Express trains, operated and maintained by the Southern Railway (SR) zone. These trains are part of the government’s initiative to provide safe and reliable long-distance travel at affordable fares, improving mobility for daily passengers and regional connectivity.
- Thiruvananthapuram Central–Tambaram Amrit Bharat Express
Train numbers 16122/16121 will run between Thiruvananthapuram Central and Tambaram, with 15 scheduled stops: Kulitturai, Nagercoil Town, Valliyur, Tirunelveli, Satur, Kovilpatti, Virudunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Tiruchchirappalli, Srirangam, Ariyalur, Vriddhachalam, Villupuram, and Chengalpattu. The train will strengthen travel links between Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
- Thiruvananthapuram North–Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express
Train numbers 17042/17041 will connect Kerala with Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, halting at 29 stations: Varkala Shivagiri, Kollam, Karunagappalli, Kayamkulam, Mavelikara, Chenhannur, Tiruvalla, Changanassery, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Tirppur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Tiruttani, Renigunta, Nellore, Ongole, Bapatla, Tenali, Guntur, Sattenapalle, Miryalaguda, and Nalgonda.

- Nagercoil Jn–Mangaluru Jn Amrit Bharat Express
Train numbers 16329/16330 will connect Tamil Nadu with coastal Karnataka through Kerala, enhancing west coast rail connectivity. The train will make 20 stops, including Kasaragod, Kannur, Thalassery, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanassery, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, Kayamkulam, Karunagappalli, Kollam, Sivagiri, Varkala, and Thiruvananthapuram Central.
The launch of these trains is expected to significantly improve inter-state travel, supporting regional mobility and offering passengers more options for safe and affordable long-distance journeys.
