
Kochi: Special Public Prosecutor G Mohanraj has stated that he is totally satisfied with the verdict in the Aluva child rape and murder case. He pointed out that the case was among the rarest of the rare. Mohanraj addressed the media post the verdict.
The court had found Alam guilty of all the 16 offences mentioned in the chargesheet. “The District Legal Service Authority has been directed to give compensation to the victim’s family. Alam was sentenced to death by hanging as per the IPC Section 302. However, an affirmation by the Kerala HC is required in the matter,” said Mohanraj.
The culprit has been sentenced to lifetime imprisonment till last breath without remission under five sections of the Indian Penal Code. This includes offences under IPC sections 376, 377 and POCSO acts.
