Pulpally: A tiger reportedly ventured into residential areas in Pulpally in Wayanad yet again. On Tuesday night, the big cat preyed on the goat domesticated by Sunil who lives in the area.
The locals have been claiming the tiger's presence in the region for the last few days. The forest officials placed a cage in the area to trap the carnivore as well. However, the untoward incident happened yesterday night, the goat’s lifeless body was found in a half-eaten state.
Officials are currently looking into pieces of evidence including the footprints at the place where the goat was killed. Five domesticated animals have reportedly fallen prey to tiger attacks over the last month.
Since the ordeal is affecting their livelihoods, the residents are mulling on launching widespread protests demanding a solution for their miseries. The issues faced by Pulpally residents were recently in the limelight after a tiger killed a farmer.
