New Delhi: Days after P C George, who joined the BJP recently, accused BDJS president Thushar Vellappally of countering his candidacy in the upcoming LS elections, the latter met the Central leadership of the BJP here. However, Thushar maintained that he has not complained against George during the meeting with BJP National President J P Nadda.

Thushar said in a press conference, ”Everyone in Kerala knows the nature of P C George. I don’t expect him to correct himself. However, I think he should be controlled.”

The BDJS leader also sought to know why George is creating problems if he is not disappointed over not getting a seat as he had claimed.

“Unwanted statements should be avoided. George’s former party didn’t even get as many votes as generally got for NOTA when it contested alone,” he said, adding that neither the BJP nor the NDA will be affected by George’s negative comments on Anil Antony.

“Pathanamthitta is a winnable seat for the BJP. Anil is part of the BJP Central leadership. P C George does not need to introduce Anil. George had insulted Ezhava community and other communities,” he said, adding that BDJS would never have taken P C George.

BDJS to contest in four seats

Meanwhile, Thushar Vellappally announced that the party would field its candidates in four seats. BDJS candidates will vie for the polls from Kottayam, Mavelikkara and Idukki, he said adding that they have also asked for Chalakudy or Ernakulam instead of Alathur. Thushar further said that he would contest from Kottayam if BJP demands so.
