Kottayam: Thushar Vellappally, BDJS candidate in Kottayam for Lok Sabha polls, assured the voters that he would raise the price of rubber up to Rs 250 if he is voted to power. He even said that he has received an assurance regarding the matter from the center. Thushar was talking to the media after his party announced its final set of candidates.
“To raise the price of rubber to Rs 250 will be an easy task for me. I am 100 percent confident of winning the elections. I have brought all the issues of the rubber farmers before the Prime Minister. If voted to power, I shall transform the tourism landscape of Kottayam as well,” said Thushar Vellappally.
Regarding Bishop Joseph Pamplany’s statement, Thushar said that ”I am the BJP MP that the bishop was talking about. I am that BJP MP who is going to raise the price of rubber”
The veteran leader also said that, “It is up to BJP to decide on whether PC George should be a part of its campaign at Kottayam.” Earlier, PC George had accused Thushar of denying him an opportunity to contest in LS polls from Pathanamthitta. Following this, reports had emerged that PC George was not happy about Thushar’s potential candidature in Kottayam.
