Palakkad: Thechikottukavu Ramachandran, a domesticated elephant notorious for his violent behaviour in Kerala, turned unruly at a temple festival in Padur, Palakkad on Friday.
Raman (63), the main mahout of a nearly blind elephant, suffered injuries to the spine after the elephant accidentally struck him. The elephant squad along with the mahouts immediately brought the elephant under control.
The officials said that the elephant charged forward after hearing the trumpeting sound of another elephant at the temple festival.
Meanwhile, Radhika (43), Ananya (12) and two other onlookers also suffered minor injuries while trying to flee the temple premises.
