A prominent figure in Kerala's theatre scene for nearly four decades, Radhan earned numerous accolades for both acting and direction, including three State Awards

Kannur: Veteran theatre artist Radhan Kannapuram (K Radhakrishnan, 58) passed away after a prolonged illness. He was the son of Chandramathi of Kannapuram Kunnummel House and late Krishnan of Chulleri House.
A prominent figure in Kerala's theatre scene for nearly four decades, Radhan earned numerous accolades for both acting and direction, including three State Awards. Some of the acclaimed plays in which he played lead roles include Perunthachan, Theepottan, Navarasanayakan, Kodeeswaran, Kinaviloru Kaliveedu, and Ullathu Paranjal.
Over the years, he was associated with several renowned theatre groups across Kerala, including Kozhikode Chiranthana, Valluvanad Nadam, Kollam Kalidasa Kalakendram, Thiruvananthapuram Sopanam, and Kozhikode Sankeerthana.
Radhan was also active in politics and had served as a Youth Congress Mandalam President. In addition to acting and directing plays, he worked as an artist with All India Radio and as a dubbing artist in a few films.
He is survived by wife Mini Radhan, a State Award-winning artist active in theatre and cinema; daughters Athira (artist) and Arathi (nurse, UK); son-in-law Vivek, Desk Editor at Balarama; and siblings Girija, Jisha, and Rajani.
