Kozhikode: Minister MV Govindan said that terrorist elements are behind the protests held against the establishment of Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Avikkal Thoodu. 

He added that protests ensued in the area after an all-party meeting agreed to set up STP. Jamaat-e-Islami and SDPI are behind these protests, he added. 

"The project adopted for Avikkal Thoodu utilises the latest technology and guarantees that no one in the area would be affected. Only terrorist elements could cause such a protest after the all-party meet accepted the project," he said.
