Thiruvananthapuram: Tamil superstar Vikram has extended his support to the state government's efforts to rebuild the landslide-hit area and rehabilitate the survivors of the tragedy by contributing Rs. 20 lakhs to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund. Vikram expressed his grief and shock over the tragedy that struck Wayanad.

So far, 200 deaths have been confirmed in connection with the disaster. The search for around 250 missing persons is ongoing in Mundakkai and Chooralmala. Hundreds of people sheltered in relief camps have lost their relatives and homes. Many others are undergoing treatment at various hospitals for severe injuries sustained in the tragedy.

Numerous prominent individuals have come forward with substantial contributions to the CMDRF to support the government's efforts in aiding the landslide-affected region.
