Kannur: Renowned short-story writer T N Prakash (68) died at his residence at Valiyannur. He was undergoing treatment after suffering from brain hemorrhage.
He had won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 2005 for his short story compilation ‘Thapam’. Till 2006, Prakash used to teach mathematics at Pallikunnu government higher secondary school. He had retired from service as Thalassery DEO.
His prominent works include Valapattanam Palam, Sneha Drishyangal, Thanal and Dasavatharam. Prakash had proved his excellence in radio dramas and in writing non fiction as well. He had received the senior fellowship of the Ministry of Culture. He was a member of Kerala Sahitya Academy and also part of the advisory committee of the Kendra Sahitya Academy.
Prakash is survived by his wife V Geetha (retired teacher) and children Prageeth and Theertha. Cremation will be held at Payyambalam at 3:30 PM today.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has condoled the death of Prakash.
