New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India on Thursday dismissed a petition filed by Manjusha, the wife of former Kannur Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Naveen Babu, seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into her husband's death.
The decision follows earlier rejections by both a single bench and a division bench of the Kerala High Court. In January, a single bench of the High Court dismissed Manjusha’s petition for a CBI probe. Later, the division bench of High Court also dismissed her plea. Following this, she moved apex court seeking CBI probe.
Naveen Babu was found hanging at his official quarters on October 15, merely a day after his farewell ceremony. The incident sparked political controversy after CPM leader and Kannur District Panchayat President P P Divya, who reportedly attended the event without an invitation, made public allegations of corruption against him.
