A suspected rabid dog attacked over 30 people in Kannur's Chakkarakkal area on Thursday, leaving victims with injuries to their hands, legs, head, and hips. The attacks occurred within a five-kilometre radius, affecting people at bus stops, children playing, and even a boy in his home. One victim's father managed to fend off the dog with a cane. A school bus driver was also attacked while preparing his vehicle for his morning trip. The dog roamed areas including Iruveri, Kulam Bazar, Punnacherry, and RV Metta. Despite the injuries, the panchayat authorities have so far not captured the animal.
More details are awaited.
