Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said that the Kerala High Court accepted 99 percent of the charges raised by the opposition in connection with Sprinklr agreement.  He also said that the court did not support any of the government explanation.

Speaking at the press conference, Ramesh Chennithala said the government had to concede that they handed over the data to Sprinklr. The court said that it will give the final verdict after listening to a detailed hearing on the matter after three weeks. He pointed out that the government had to bring in advocates from Mumbai even though they had government advocates at their disposal.

Government told the court that the data was handed over to the private company as the state’s machinery was inadequate to contain the virus in its worst case scenario. Government stated that an estimated 80 lakh people in Kerala have the possibility of contracting the disease and they took the help from Sprinklr in this context. Ramesh Chennithala also asked the Chief Minister to clarify from where he got information of 80 lakh patients contracting the virus in the state. Globally only 25 lakh people have tested positive for the virus.

Chennithala also pointed out that the government could have approached National Informatics Centre if they found they did not have the machinery to handle data. But the central government clarified that the LDF government did not request any such help from NIC. Ramesh Chennithala demanded the CM to explain the decision to choose Sprinklr while overlooking the facilities within the country.
