Varkala: Swami Satchidananda, President of the Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust, has voiced concerns regarding the government's new liquor policy, particularly its impact on the widespread distribution of alcohol.
Expressing apprehension over the increasing presence of the liquor industry and availability of alcohol, Swami Satchidananda emphasised the negative effects it has on family life and the social fabric. He highlighted the importance of honouring Sree Narayana Guru's principles, suggesting that if the government acknowledges the harmful nature of alcohol with the principle of "liquor is poison, make it not, sell it not, drink it not," then the new liquor policy should be reconsidered.
