Kannur: The special investigation team probing the death of ADM K Naveen Babu has checked the personal mobile phone of former District Panchayat President PP Divya. The police are examining her phone records, focusing on the calls made in the evening after corruption allegations were raised at Naveen Babu's farewell meeting, as well as those made after his suicide.

The police had sent Divya’s phone to the cybercrime department for detailed analysis of some calls. A detailed report on the phone’s contents was received on Monday, and the team is set to review the information in the coming days.

Video allegations and corruption claims

Another important angle in the investigation is whether Divya shared a video on social media that circulated after corruption allegations were made against Naveen Babu. The video was shared by a private channel in the aftermath of the farewell meeting, and the police are trying to determine if it was deleted after being shared. They are also probing whether a worker from a private channel was called to film the meeting.

Investigating links with Prasanthan

The police are also trying to find out whether Divya was in constant contact with Prasanthan, who had applied for a petrol pump license and is a key figure in the investigation. The investigation into Prasanthan’s role is still ongoing as the team continue to collect evidence.

The investigation team also plans to record the statement of A Geetha, Land Revenue Joint Commissioner who conducted a departmental inquiry into Naveen Babu's death. This will take place in the coming days. The police will visit Pathanamthitta this week to re-record statements from Naveen Babu’s wife and other family members.
