Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in Kerala will begin house visits from Tuesday as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls.

Thiruvananthapuram: Booth Level Officers (BLOs) across Kerala will begin visiting households from Tuesday to collect voter details as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll. The field verification will continue until December 4, 2025.
During this phase, no documents are required from the residents. The draft voters’ list will be published on December 9, and the final list will be released on February 7, 2026.
The SIR is being conducted even as political parties in Kerala have demanded that the revision be postponed in view of the upcoming local body elections.
The revision was officially launched when Governor Rajendra Arlekar handed over the enumeration form to mark the beginning of the SIR at Raj Bhavan. On Kerala Piravi Day, Chief Electoral Officer U Rathan Kelkar received the first enumeration form at Kuttichal, Thiruvananthapuram. The form was filled by Jaya, under the supervision of BLO B L Sharanya, in the Aruvikkara constituency — making it the first enumeration form completed in the state.
All voters listed in the October 7, 2025 electoral roll will receive two enumeration forms from BLOs. One form must be filled and returned, while the other can be kept for reference. BLOs will assist voters in filling out and uploading the forms online if needed.
Key points to remember:
- The 2002 electoral roll is used as the base list for the SIR.
- Voters whose names appear in both the 2002 and 2025 rolls only need to sign and submit the enumeration form — no documents required.
- Voters included in the 2025 list, but not in the 2002 list need to provide documents only if their parents or grandparents are not listed in the 2002 roll.
- If neither the voter nor their parents are listed in the 2002 roll, one of the 12 identity documents specified by the Election Commission must be submitted.
- A colour photograph may also be attached.
BLOs will be accompanied by Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by political parties during fieldwork.
SIR schedule:
- November 4 – December 4, 2025: House visits, distribution and collection of forms.
- December 9, 2025: Publication of the draft Voters’ List.
- December 9, 2025 – January 8, 2026: Period for filing objections and claims.
