New Delhi: Kerala will seek help from the central government for the implementation of the K-Rail project. Finance Minister KN Balagopal informed that he will raise the demand at a meeting of state finance ministers ahead of the general budget.
Kerala wants the centre to allot Rs 2,000 crore from the railway fund to the K-Rail project, said the minister.

The railway ministry has not shown any interest in granting Rs 2000 cr for SilverLine, the dream project of the State Government. Last month, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had written to union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman requesting to include the railway fund in the general budget.

Kerala is preparing to raise the issue strongly before the Centre. KN Balagopal said that he will seek the attention of the centre to examine the general situation in the state. Kerala will also demand financial aid to address the financial crisis triggered by the Covid-19 outbreak.
