Thiruvananthapuram: The Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday dismissed the petition filed by the complainant in the solar scam case against late Congress veteran Ommen Chandy. The petition was filed against a CBI report that acquitted Chandy over a sexual assault complaint linked with the solar scam case.
The complainant had demanded the court dismiss the CBI report. However, the court upheld the report after hearing the complainant’s arguments.
According to the complainant, Oommen Chandy had sexually assaulted her on September 19, 2012, at Cliff House. However, a Crime Branch report on the case stated that the leader was not present at the Cliff House on that day.
Following this, the complainant demanded a CBI probe, and the case was transferred to the CBI in January 2021. Subsequently, the investigation was carried out against Oommen Chandy and other accused. CBI gave clean chit to him last year.
