
Cherthala: In the backdrop of violence that erupted following the murder of an RSS activist in Vayalar, prohibitory orders have been issued in Cherthala and Ambalappuzha taluks.
Section 144 will be clamped in the two taluks for three days beginning on Thursday.
RSS activist Nandu Krishna was hacked to death in Vayalar on Wednesday night. There was tension between SDPI and RSS activists in the region. A dispute erupted between the two groups on Wednesday night.
BJP observed a hartal in Alappuzha district on Thursday condemning the murder. Several shops were attacked during the hartal. Three shops were set on fire while one shop was demolished. It was in view of these protests that prohibitory orders were issued.
