
Palakkad: Yet another incident of student violence has been reported, this time at Sree Vidyadhiraja ITI in Ottapalam, where a classroom clash on February 19 left a student with a broken nose. CCTV footage of the incident has been released.
The fight broke out when one student grabbed another by the neck. Enraged, the latter questioned him, leading to a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical assault. The injured student is still undergoing treatment in hospital, and his condition is said to be serious.
Initial police investigations revealed that the two students had previous disputes. However, the police have not yet been able to record the injured student’s statement. Further action in the case will be taken only after his statement is documented.
