Thiruvananthapuram: Former chief minister Oommen Chandy said that when Kanam Rajendran hurt the sentiments of believers in Sabarimala issue, the chief minister added fuel to the fire. The LDF leaders are attacking a society that engages in a battle to protect customs and rituals, he said.
Taking Sabarimala issue as a tool to attract votes is a substandard stance. It was Devaswom minister Kadakampally Surendran who started mentioning Sabarimala issue when assembly election is round the corner, he added.
The chief minister disowned a minister of his cabinet and followed Kanam Rajendran. CPM’s double standard and deceitful attitude in Sabarimala issue has come to light, Oommen Chandy said.
