Kollam: To counter the onslaught from mainstream media, the CPM will form a professional team to engage in social media. The proposal is to start online channels with financial support from expatriates.
The media's attack against the CPM is aimed at weakening the LDF. Congress and BJP are also funding this effort. It is under this influence, the media is adopting an anti-LDF stance. This is mentioned in a report presented in the CPM state conference being held in Kollam.
Renowned mediaperson M.V. Nikesh Kumar was granted party membership by taking this aspect in mind and he is included under the party IT Cell. Now, the party report suggests that a professional IT cell that will operate regularly should be there at the state level for engagement in social media.
There is also a recommendation to connect the social media team that works under the Chief Minister's office with this group. The party assessed that during the 2024 election campaign, both BJP and UDF were behind in social media campaigning.
