Two MEMU trains cancelled, several express services delayed due to Aluva bridge maintenance.Know more

Thiruvananthapuram: Two MEMU trains were cancelled on Wednesday as a result of maintenance work being carried out on a railway bridge in Aluva. The cancelled services include the Palakkad–Ernakulam South MEMU (66609) and the Ernakulam South–Palakkad MEMU (66610).
Several express trains are also expected to face delays. The Indore–Thiruvananthapuram Ahalya Nagari Express (22645) will be delayed by 1 hour and 30 minutes. The Kannur–Alappuzha Executive Express (16308) will run 1 hour and 20 minutes late, while the Secunderabad–Thiruvananthapuram Sabari Express (17230) will be delayed by 30 minutes.
In addition, the Guruvayur–Chennai Egmore Express (16128) will be diverted via Kottayam on August 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 17, and 19. On these dates, the train will skip its scheduled stops at Ernakulam Junction, Cherthala, and Alappuzha, and will instead halt at Kottayam and Chengannur.
Meanwhile, the departure of the Thiruvananthapuram–Mangaluru Vande Bharat Express (20632) will also be affected. On August 9, it will depart at 4.50 pm instead of the scheduled 4.05 pm. On August 10, the train will leave at 4.15 pm.
