District-wise yellow alert schedule
- Sunday, 16 November: Kottayam, Idukki
- Monday, 17 November: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki
- Tuesday, 18 November: Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Malappuram
- Wednesday, 19 November: Kottayam, Idukki
- Thursday, 20 November: Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Kannur, Kasaragod
The alerts indicate the likelihood of isolated heavy rainfall in these areas.
Defining heavy rainfall
According to the IMD, heavy rainfall refers to 24-hour precipitation ranging from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm. Residents in the affected districts are urged to take necessary precautions and stay updated with official weather advisories.
