Kannur: Water was found leaking into one of the executive coaches of the Vande Bharat Express a few hours after its launch by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.

Kannur witnessed heavy rains on Tuesday. The train had arrived in Kannur from Kasaragod on Tuesday night for refilling water and other necessities. The train was halted on the second platform.

The leakage occurred due to a gap in the sealing, and the railway authorities have reported that repair works are underway to fix the small leak.

However, there will be no disruption to Vande Bharat services due to the repair works, and the train is expected to return to Kasaragod before its scheduled departure on Wednesday.
