Southern Railway on Friday announced the operation of special weekly AC express trains between Tambaram (Chennai) and Kochuveli (Kerala). The special services have been introduced to manage the anticipated increase in passengers during the upcoming Puja and Diwali festivals.

Train services schedule

Train No. 06035 Tambaram–Kochuveli Weekly AC Express Special will depart Tambaram at 19:30 hrs on 11, 18, 25 October; 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 November; and 6, 13, 20, 27 December 2024 (Fridays). It will reach Kochuveli at 11:30 hrs the following day.

In the return direction, Train No. 06036 Kochuveli–Tambaram Weekly AC Express Special will leave Kochuveli at 15:25 hrs on 13, 20, 27 October; 3, 10, 17, 24 November; and 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 December 2024 (Sundays), arriving at Tambaram at 07:35 hrs the next day.

Coach composition

The trains will comprise 14 AC three-tier economy coaches and two luggage-cum-brake vans.

The train has halts in Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Melmaruvathur, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Ariyalur, Srirangam, Tiruchchirappalli, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudunagar, Sivakasi, Srivilliputtur, Rajapalayam, Sankarankovil, Pamba Kovil Shandy, Kadayanallur, Tenkasi, Sengottai, Tenmalai, Punalur, Auvaneswarem, Kottarakara, Kundara, Kollam, and Kochuveli.
