Rahul Easwar has been remanded in police custody until Thursday evening as investigators search his Technopark office for key digital evidence.

Thiruvananthapuram: Rahul Easwar has been remanded to police custody until 5 pm on Thursday in the case related to the cyber abuse of the young woman who had filed a rape complaint against Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil. His production warrant was presented before the court on Wednesday. The case is being investigated by the Thiruvananthapuram City Cyber Police.
Rahul Easwar had earlier claimed that the digital materials used to humiliate the survivor—such as photos and text messages stored on a pen drive—were kept at his office in Technopark. The police informed the court that they needed to recover these materials from the office. The court accepted this and allowed police custody until 5 pm on Thursday.
Once the digital evidence and related materials are retrieved from the office, Easwar will be produced before the court on Thursday evening and then sent back in judicial custody. He may submit a fresh bail application on Friday.
Rahul Easwar had earlier been remanded for 14 days in the case of cyber abuse against the woman who accused MLA Rahul Mankootathil of rape. The remand order was issued by the Thiruvananthapuram Additional CJM Court.
