Easwar was first summoned for questioning before being formally detained.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Police on Sunday recorded the arrest of activist Rahul Easwar over a cyber-harassment complaint filed by a woman who had earlier lodged a sexual assault case against MLA Rahul Mamkootathil.
Easwar was first summoned for questioning before being formally detained. He was later transferred to the AR camp for further proceedings.
The arrest of Rahul Easwar adds a new dimension to the ongoing controversies surrounding the high-profile young Congress MLA. Easwar’s critics have hailed the move as a befitting action in response to his alleged outrageous and misogynistic statements about the survivor on public platforms.
The Cyber Cell had called Easwar in after the complainant submitted URLs allegedly implicating him. The complaint also referenced links connected to four other individuals. Authorities verified the submitted URLs before proceeding with formal action.
A total of four individuals have been booked for allegedly insulting the survivor.
