Manjeri (Malappuram): There are some technical issues on launching a new political party, revealed Nilambur MLA PV Anvar amid ongoing rumours surrounding his meeting with Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leaders in Chennai the other day. However, he added that he is speaking with the legal team regarding the matter.

The other day, reports emerged about Anvar's meeting with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin. Following this, news emerged that Anvar's Democratic Movement of Kerala (DMK)) would function as an ally of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, the ruling party of Tamil Nadu. The official announcement of launching the party will be made in Manjeri today.

Addressing the media, Anvar stated that the new party, called the Democratic Movement of Kerala is a social movement, emphasizing that its first meeting in Manjeri will involve common people. He also opined that for him, ordinary people are the dominant leaders.

"MK Stalin is a leader who can be trusted by the secular community. Responsible individuals with a secular perspective will oversee and monitor the programs. We will establish a network system across all districts in Kerala to address social issues. The first meeting will be held in Malappuram district, with more meetings planned in other districts to convey our message," he stated.

Meanwhile, Anwar clarified that there is no confusion regarding the DMK. "There is a DMK in Tamil Nadu and a DMK in Kerala—this is clear. The movement is just beginning. Let’s see what the people decide. I represent those who empower the powerful," he added.
