Kerala will conduct the Pulse Polio Immunisation Drive on October 12, targeting 21 lakh children under five across 22,383 booths statewide.

Thiruvananthapuram: The State is conducting its Pulse Polio Immunisation drive today,October 12, 2025, as part of a nationwide campaign to eradicate polio by interrupting the transmission of the wild poliovirus.
An additional dose of the oral polio vaccine will be administered to 21,11,010 children under the age of five across Kerala.
The Health Department has set up 22,383 booths, including fixed, transit, and mobile units, at public places and healthcare centres. Around 44,766 volunteers have been deployed to support the drive.
Booths established in schools, anganwadis, reading rooms, and government and private hospitals is operating from 8 am to 5 pm. Transit booths at bus stands, railway stations, airports, and boat jetties will remain open until 8 pm.
Mobile units will continue operations on October 13 and 14 in and around migrant labour camps and tourist centres to ensure vaccination of any children missed on Sunday. Health workers will also conduct mop-up rounds through home visits to cover any remaining unvaccinated children.
Minister Veena George urged all parents to ensure their children below five years receive the oral polio vaccine on Sunday without fail.
