A probationary Sub-Inspector faces legal charges after allegedly manhandling a senior officer who denied him entry to PM Modi’s rally in Thiruvalla.

Pathanamthitta: Legal action has been initiated against a probationary Sub-Inspector (SI) and two associates for the alleged physical assault of a Station House Officer (SHO) during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s election rally in Thiruvalla.
The incident took place on the evening of April 4 outside the Thiruvalla Municipal Stadium. According to official reports, the complainant, Sreelal Chandrasekharan—the SHO of Koduman Police Station—was managing security and crowd control at the venue’s entrance when the altercation occurred.
Investigators state that Krishna Mohan, a probationary SI currently stationed in Thiruvananthapuram, arrived at the rally with two companions despite not being assigned for duty. When the SHO denied the trio entry to the venue, a confrontation ensued. The situation reportedly escalated into a physical scuffle, during which Mohan is alleged to have manhandled the SHO and torn the badge from his official uniform.
Thiruvalla Police has formally registered a case against the three individuals. In addition to the criminal probe, a report has been dispatched to senior police leadership, and an internal departmental inquiry is currently underway to determine further disciplinary action.
