Kozhikode: A private bus collided with a school bus in Edacheri here on Tuesday, leaving 13 students injured. The injured students are from M.M. Orphanage English Medium School.

The incident occurred in the morning near the Edacheri Police Station. A private bus named Janaki, travelling from Vadakara to Nadapuram, collided with the school bus, which was on its way to Vadakara. Local residents and the fire force quickly rescued the driver and students trapped inside the school bus.

Among the injured, twelve children received treatment at two private hospitals in Vadakara, while the injured school bus driver and a child were admitted to a hospital in Kozhikode. The driver sustained a fractured thigh, and the child had injuries to the forehead. Eyewitnesses reported that the private bus was speeding and that it was raining heavily at the time of the collision.
