A new health and wellness destination integrating Ayurveda, traditional Chinese and Tibetan medicine, modern medical science, yoga, meditation, and holistic healing is set to open. The Tulah Clinical Wellness Sanctuary, developed by KEF Holdings under the leadership of prominent Malayali entrepreneur Faizal E. Kottikollon, is being established on a 30-acre campus in Chelembra, near Calicut International Airport. The facility is expected to be fully operational by April.
The soft launch of the project took place on 22 February in the presence of UAE Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri and G20 Sherpa and former NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant.
Built with an investment of ₹1000 crore over two years, the comprehensive wellness resort boasts 65 luxury suites. The sanctuary is strategically located along the national highway, offering breathtaking views of the Western Ghats. It also features an organic medicinal garden with around 400 varieties of medicinal plants, with plans to expand it into a larger medicinal forest in the future. Additionally, the centre includes state-of-the-art facilities for sports rehabilitation and sports medicine.
KEF Holdings Chairman Faizal E. Kottikollon told Mathrubhumi that prominent personalities from around the world are expected to visit Tulah in the coming months.
As the wellness sanctuary is connected to Meitra Hospital (under KEF Holdings) in Kozhikode, it is expected to give a significant boost to medical value tourism in Kerala. KEF Holdings also plans to establish 100 Tulah centres in major cities worldwide, strengthening India’s presence in the global wellness industry. The first of these centres, each spanning an average of 10,000 square feet, is set to open in Dubai.
Faizal is the son of P. K. Ahammed, the founder of Kozhikode-based Peekay Steel. He is also actively involved in social welfare initiatives. The Faizal and Shabana Foundation, led by Faizal and his wife Shabana, is behind these initiatives.

Advanced oil therapy
One of the major attractions at the Tulah Centre is an Ayurvedic oil bath chamber developed with European technological support. This chamber includes various types of showers and has received patents from the European Union, England, and Asia. It is considered safer and more scientific than traditional wooden oil baths, with the added advantage of being resistant to infections.

Genome testing
Treatments at the centre are customised based on genome and microbiome analyses, which help in accurately understanding individual genetic structures. The services, including genome kits, are available through the AI-powered online app ‘Tulah Tech’.
