Kochi: There is no evidence to assert that the fire in Brahmapuram was man-made, says a preliminary investigation report prepared by Kerala Police on the recent fire at the Brahmapuram Solid Waste Treatment plant.
However, the police have not ruled out the possibility of sabotage.
Further, the CCTV footage from sector 1 of the plant does not show how the fire started. Kochi City Police Commissioner submitted the report to DGP the other day.
Meanwhile, police have also taken measures to gather satellite images on the fire accident. The report also indicates that soaring temperature might be a reason for the fire.
Garbage piles at the Brahmapuram plant caught fire on March 2. The fire was doused after 12 days, during which smoke from burning plastic caused severe air pollution in Kochi.
