Central intelligence alerts railways to possible sabotage threats on Republic Day; security tightened nationwide.

Thiruvananthapuram: A warning has been issued about the possibility of attempts to sabotage train services on Republic Day. Central intelligence agencies have cautioned that there could be sabotage efforts targeting train operations across the country.
In view of the alert, strict instructions have been issued to Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel to strengthen security measures. Authorities have directed that construction materials or other objects should not be left carelessly near railway tracks and must be stored safely. Both the public and railway staff have been asked to immediately report anything unusual noticed on or near the tracks.
The railway security wing aims to prevent untoward incidents by stepping up surveillance at major railway stations and surrounding areas. A special circular has already been issued instructing railway employees to maintain a high level of vigilance.
