Malappuram: The police busted a hawala racket and seized Rs 63 lakh from two men at Perinthalmanna here on Tuesday. The accused were identified as Kothamangalam natives Bennet (32) and Sumesh (40). Police recorded their arrest and seized the money from their car. 

Police nabbed the duo during a vehicle inspection on Tuesday morning. It is learnt that the police carried out the inspection after obtaining confidential information regarding the hawala dealing. 

The currencies were found hidden with a mat beneath the seats of the car. Bennet was driving the car. Police took the accused into custody for detailed interrogation.
