Thiruvananthapuram: The police have registered a case against Nandakumar Kolathappilly, a leader of a left-wing organisation, for cyberattacks against Achu Oommen, daughter of former chief minister Oommen Chandy. The Poojappura police have slapped offences which are eligible for default bail.
The alleged cyberattack against Achu Oommen escalated during the final stages of the Puthuppally byelection campaign. Achu had lodged a complaint, in which she highlighted the personal attacks directed at her through social media, as well as the derogatory comments targeting her womanhood. Following Achu Oommen's complaint to the police and the Women's Commission, Nandakumar issued an apology on Facebook.
