Alappuzha: Kerala Police have given clean chit to Ansil Jaleel, the former KSU state convener, in relation to the certificate forgery case.
In a report submitted in court on Friday, the police dismissed finding any evidence to ascertain whether the KSU leader had forged the certificates.
In June, CPM mouthpiece 'Deshabhimani' published a news report alleging that Ansil fabricated a fake B.Com degree certificate. The report came to light at a time when former SFI leader K. Vidhya was accused of fabricating a document for appointment as a guest lecturer at a college.
Based on the news report, a complaint was filed before the Kerala University registrar, prompting cantonment police here to register a case against the KSU leader.
