Kozhikode: Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the 100th anniversary conference of Samastha (AP faction) scheduled to be held in Malappuram.

The invitation was extended during a meeting between Kanthapuram and the Prime Minister in New Delhi on Monday. The invite pertains to an international programme planned as part of the Samastha centenary conference. 

Sources said the Prime Minister responded positively to the invitation and is considering participation.

During the meeting, Modi also congratulated Kanthapuram for his intervention in the case of Nimishapriya, the Kerala nurse imprisoned in Yemen. The Prime Minister reportedly assured that the Centre would continue efforts to secure her release.

Kanthapuram earlier said that discussions in Delhi covered social, humanitarian, educational and developmental issues, minority welfare concerns, and key international matters. He also informed the Prime Minister about issues raised during his recent Kerala outreach campaign themed ‘Manushyarkkoppam' (With Humans).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi later shared photographs from the meeting on the social media platform X, praising Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar for his contributions towards social harmony, communal brotherhood and progress in the field of education.

The proposed visit, if confirmed, is expected to add national significance to the Samastha 100th anniversary conference in Malappuram.
