
Munnar: Sebinster Francis and Sefinster Antony Francis, the brothers hailing from Munnar and both photographers, prepared and presented a documentary on the 18 days of disaster in Pettimudi after the 2020 landslide. They showed the world of the days after the tragedy.
The documentary titled ‘Angane Manushyan Njerinjamarunnu Veendum Veendum’ was accepted for this year’s Kerala State Television Award. The documentary received special mention for documentary (biography) and cinematography in the non-fiction category.
The brothers prepared the documentary following the request by the Revenue department and includes all the things that took place in Pettimudi in the 18 days from the next day of the disaster till the last day of rescue operations.
The aerial visuals were recorded using drones and GoPro. The revenue department submitted this documentary for the Kerala State Television Award directly.
An engineering graduate, Sebinster is a well-known wildlife photographer in Munnar and also the owner of the tourism company Route 49 Adventures. Sefinster is a final year law student at Ernakulam Government Law College.
