Mumbai: In a major relief for passengers, the Indian Railway has decided to extend Parasuram Express (16649), which currently operates between Mangaluru and Nagercoil, to Kanyakumari.

The changes are likely to be brought in the new railway timetable in July.

Parasuram Express consists of 21 coaches, and there have been issues at Nagercoil station with handling trains with more than 21 coaches. The railway has assured that efforts will be taken to rectify the issue, but no decision has been made on the matter yet.
