Thiruvananthapuram: District Congress Committee (DCC) President Palode Ravi tendered his resignation from the post after party fellows in his own panchayat joined CPM. The move came as UDF lost power in Peringammala-- Ravi’s panchayat, after three party workers including, the president and standing committee chairman joined CPM. Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has reportedly rejected his resignation.
It is learnt that party members swapped their affiliations over the issues related to the recently held Congress reorganisation. Similarly, the trio had been reportedly awaiting disciplinary action against them for the manhandling of the former block president during a Congress mandalam committee meeting.
The members who joined CPM were Shinu Madathara, Kalayapuram Ansari, and Shehnaz. They also quit their panchayat posts.
