Pathanamthitta: A KSRTC bus crashed into five auto rickshaws in Paranthal injuring three auto drivers. It was a KSRTC fast passenger bus plying from Erattupetta to Thiruvananthapuram that was involved in an accident at around 11 AM on Sunday morning.
One of the eyewitnesses said that the bus lost control when a person waved for the bus to stop and the driver applied brakes. However, the bus didn’t stop and rammed into the auto-rickshaws that were parked along the road.
There were drivers sitting inside the parked rickshaws. When the first auto was hit, the other drivers alighted and ran from the spot. Auto drivers Krishnakumar, Ashokan and Sajimon sustained serious injuries in the accident. They were first taken to a private hospital in Pandalam and later shifted to the taluk hospital.
All five autos were severely damaged in the accident. The cause of this incident will be investigated thoroughly.
