Palakkad: One person has died and several others were injured after a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus overturned in the Nelliyampathy hills of Palakkad district on Monday.

The accident occurred above the Pothundy check post on the Nelliyampathy ghat road. Two of the injured passengers are reportedly in critical condition.

The bus, which was travelling from Nelliyampathy to Palakkad, veered off the road and fell into a ravine. It is currently stuck against a tree after falling into the valley.

Local residents and Fire and Rescue Services personnel are carrying out rescue operations at the site. Further details about the accident and the condition of those injured are awaited.
