Siljo said false propaganda about negligence by the family had caused them mental distress.

Angamaly (Ernakulam, Kerala): Emotion ran through the corridors of an Apollo Adlux hospital here on Thursday as Anosh, who survived a snakebite incident in Kodaly, Thrissur, was discharged in full health. His recovery brought relief, but also visible grief, as the parents broke into tears during the press interaction on the discharge day.
Siljo, the father, recalled the moment the children were first brought to the hospital. “I had already lost one son. Please, at least save the other,” he said, describing what he told doctors in those critical hours.
Anosh said he was thankful to everyone who prayed for his recovery. He also mentioned receiving a football as a gift from the hospital, adding that it made him happy.
Family thanks staff, ambulance driver, and expresses anguish over misinformation
Siljo thanked ambulance driver Shailesh and others who ensured the children were taken to hospital without delay.
The family said doctors and nurses treated Anosh with deep care and attention, “like their own child,” and credited the hospital staff for his recovery. Hospital sisters also brought him milk from home and gifted him a football, his favourite pastime.
Siljo said false propaganda about negligence by the family had caused them mental distress. He also clarified that reports suggesting a snake was found inside a pillow cover were incorrect. The family added that Anosh is now fully healthy, able to eat and walk, and has recovered completely. They also thanked the government and others who supported medical treatment.
Snakebite incident in Kodaly and initial confusion over cause
On April 19, Anosh and his eight-year-old brother Aljo were sleeping on the floor in the hall of their home, along with their mother, when they were bitten by a snake.
Around 2 am, both children developed stomach pain, which the family initially believed was food poisoning. Their condition worsened, prompting hospital admission. Aljo later died.
Hospital authorities later suspected a snakebite, following which a search of the house led to the discovery of a snake inside the premises.
