Vadakara police rescue Plus Two student attempting suicide on railway tracks during Onam celebrations after a dispute with a teacher.

Vadakara: During the Onam celebrations, Vadakara police rescued a Plus Two student who attempted suicide on the railway tracks after a dispute with a teacher. The incident occurred around 12.30 pm the other day.
As the school’s Onam celebrations got out of hand, teachers intervened. During this, the student ran out of the school. As he called his friends and expressed suicidal intentions, the friends informed the teachers. The teachers promptly alerted Vadakara Police. By checking the mobile tower location, the police found the student was near the Iringal area. When the police arrived, the student was standing on the railway tracks near the station. Despite efforts to persuade the student to step back, there was no response.
When the police approached, the student ran along the tracks towards Kozhikode. The police followed on foot. The student was rescued near Kalaripadi just before a train arrived.
The student was brought to the police station, where the situation was explained and understood in the presence of their guardians, after which he was released. Vadakara SI M K Ranjith, ASI Ganesan and CPO Sajeevan were part of the team.
