Kozhikode has a new civic leadership team. O. Sadashivan has been elected as the Mayor of Kozhikode, while Dr S Jayasree will serve as the Deputy Mayor.

Sadashivan, who contested from Thadambattu Thazham ward, is a senior leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) and a prominent figure in Kozhikode politics. He has also been the LDF council party leader in the Kozhikode Municipal Corporation.

Dr S Jayasree, currently the Chairperson of the Health Standing Committee, will assume the deputy mayoral role. Jayasree was previously considered for the mayoral position, but in the last term, the post was ultimately awarded to Beena Philip at the final moment.
